New couch

We've had only one couch in our living room for a couple of years now. Now that we're a 6 person family, we don't even remotely fit on it. Since we're also having a bunch of family come visit soon, we thought it was time to get some more seating.

Here's our old couch. I found it 2 years ago for $50 on craigslist and sold it last week to a good friend for the same price. It matches the color scheme in her living room perfectly and she'd been looking for a cheap couch on craigslist for a while. So, it was a win/win!


We went to a local furniture store and picked out this lovely leather sectional.

We love it! Now that we have enough seating for the whole family plus some, our kids don't really use the couch. I guess they've gotten used to the floor. So, now I'm looking for some new accessories for the living room and itching to make curtains for the downstairs. We'll see if that happens any time soon. I'm supposed to be focusing on the upstairs right now.

Helping a friend

I have a good friend whose daughter wanted a Cinderella birthday cake for her 4th birthday. Since my friend had never decorated a cake before, she came over last week and I helped her put it together. Here's our finished cake. It's not the best but the birthday girl recognized her as Cinderella, and that's the important thing.

Taking a break for a bit...

Monday, our baby girl joined our family. I'll be taking a break from blogging for a bit while I adjust to 4 kids. I'll be back with the finished nursery and we'll be starting in on our next big project soon too. More on that later. I'm going to go snuggle a cutie...
